Assistant Chief Bennie Boles was born in Knoxville Tennessee, where he graduated from West High School and enlisted in the United States Army. While enlisted Bennie was sent to Fort Hood, Texas. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Mountain State University and a Master’s Degree from Sam Houston State University. He holds a Master Peace Officer Certification and is a graduate of the Leadership Command College Class – 82. He is currently attending the Hobby School of Public Affairs, University of Houston.  

 

He is married to Christina and has four adult children, Joshua, Jessica, Jeremiah, and Joy. They have seven grandchildren, consisting of five girls and two boys.

 

Bennie is a 22 year veteran of the La Porte Police Department, serving seven of those years as a reserve officer. He is currently assigned as the Assistant Chief of the Patrol Bureau. He has served many different roles in the police department, some of which include Evening Shift Lieutenant, Administrative Sergeant, Traffic Sergeant, Patrol Sergeant, Field Training Coordinator, PIO and Chaplain.

 

In his spare time, Bennie enjoys hanging out with his large family.
