Eligibility Requirements
Board members must be individuals owning or operating a business within the City of La Porte. Council will determine competency based on experience and training in matters pertaining to building construction. They may not be employed by the City of La Porte

About the Board
The purpose of the board is to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions, or determinations made by the building official relative to the application and interpretation of the building codes adopted by the City. The Chairman is to be elected by members at the first meeting and replaced as needed.
