Alarm System

The Cities of La Porte, Morgan's Point, and Shoreacres use an Outdoor Warning System to notify citizens in the event of a chemical emergency.

During a chemical emergency, the sirens may be activated.  The "take shelter" siren sounds a "whoop, whoop" tone.  Once the threat has ended, an "all clear" siren will be sounded.
The “all clear” siren will sound a tone similar to an air horn.  Once the all clear siren has been issued, it is safe to go outside. Click on the various links below to hear an example of both the "Take Shelter" and "All Clear" sirens.

The Outdoor Warning Sirens are tested EVERY Saturday at NOON.  If you hear a siren other than at this pre-determined time, you should assume an emergency exists and Shelter in Place.
