Yvonne joined the La Porte Police Department, in July 1995, after serving 4 years in the United States Navy. She completed her police training at the Harris County Sherriff’s Academy and immediately began working for the La Porte Police Department. Upon joining the La Porte Police Department, she initially served in the Patrol Division before transferring to the Support Services Division where she has taught the D.A.R.E. program and now serves in a dual capacity teaching D.A.R.E. and as a the PAR officer for District 3.  Yvonne finished her Bachelors Degree from University of Houston, in December 2008, and has been awarded certificates and licenses as a Police Instructor, Certified D.A.R.E. Instructor, and Master Peace Officer.  She is also a member of the Department’s Honor Guard and has recently been named Volunteer Coordinator for the Departments Volunteer Program.  In her spare time she enjoys anything on or near the water and long distance bicycling.
