    The La Porte Police Department has contracted with Cry Wolf false alarm management solutions in proactive effort to more effectively utilize taxpayer dollars, while improving the quality of both police and alarm services.

  2. Animal Adoption Center and Shelter

  3. Bicycle Security Tips

    On the street, the value of a stolen bicycle is approximately 5-10% of the bicycles original retail value. A large percentage of bicycle theft takes place in cities where there are colleges and universities.

  4. Child Safe Gun Locks

    Project Child Safe is designed to reduce the risk of firearms accidents in the home and, in particular, to help safeguard children from suffering a tragic injury because of an improperly stored firearm.

  5. Citizen's Police Academy

    The La Porte Citizen's Police Academy is a community awareness program. The academy is scheduled for 13 to 14 consecutive Tuesday nights, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

  6. Citizen's Volunteer Program

    The main objective of the program is to foster teamwork between the Police Department and the citizens we serve.

  7. Blue Santa Program

    The Blue Santa Program’s primary mission is to provide toys and Christmas dinners for needy children and their families in the local area, many of whom would not have the means to hold traditional Christmas festivities without help from their community.

  8. D.A.R.E.

    The primary mission of the La Porte Police D.A.R.E. program is to provide children with the information and skills they need to live drug-and-violence-free lives.

  9. Insurance Home Surveys

    The La Porte Police Department can have an officer inspect your home to help you meet Texas Department of Insurance Standards. The following is required to obtain insurance discounts.

    Neighborhood Watch is exactly that, watching over your own neighborhood and assisting the police as additional eyes and ears, reporting unusual activity to the police.

  12. Operation I.D.

    Operation Identification is a citizens burglary prevention program for use in homes and businesses. The Operation I.D. program involves marking your property with an identifying number as a means of discouraging burglary.

  13. Police Area Representatives (P.A.R. Officers)

    The goal of this program is to organize resources and provide assistance to citizens in preventing and reducing crime, as well as providing other resources and information to citizens.

  14. Records Division

    The Records Division is responsible for handling police incident reports, accident reports, open records requests, and any other information regarding agency data.

  15. School Resource Officers

    Each officer is assigned to a specific campus and works directly from their respective school.

  17. Youth Explorer Program

    The La Porte Police Department currently has a Police “Explorers” Program available for youth ages 14 to 20. The primary mission of the program is to educate teens who are interested in pursuing law enforcement as a career.

    The RAD System is a program of realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques for women only. It is a comprehensive course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance, while progressing toward the basics of actual hands-on defense training.
