These sirens are located throughout the city in such a way that they can be heard in all residential and business areas. In the event of a chemical emergency, the sirens will sound a "whoop, whoop" tone. When the sirens are activated, citizens should shelter-in-place, stay off the phone, and tune radios to AM 830 for more information.
The CAER Line is a telephone system that is used to get information regarding chemical plant activities. The number is 281-476-CAER (2237).
The phone line is divided into two sections: emergency messages and non-emergency messages. The non-emergency section is used to communicate information such as alarm testing and fire training.
