Juror Qualifications

Criteria
  1. You must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. You must be a citizen of this state and a resident of the county in which you are to serve as a juror. Please note that by claiming this as an exemption, you may no longer be eligible to vote in the county.
  3. You must be qualified under the constitution and laws to vote in the county in which you are to serve as a juror. Please note that you do not have to be registered to vote to be qualified to vote.
  4. You must be of sound mind and good moral character.
  5. You must be able to read and write.
  6. You must not have served as a juror for 6 days during the preceding 3 months in the County Court or during the preceding 6 months in the district court.
  7. You must not have been convicted of theft or any felony.
  8. You must not be under indictment or other legal accusation of a misdemeanor theft, felony theft, or any other felony charge.
  9. You must currently live within the City limits of La Porte.
